The One World Orphans Fund is a Not for Profit Charitable Fund set up to meet the nutritional, educational and health care material needs of both Economic and Familial Orphans in Third World Countries throughout the Asia Pacific Region. The Fund is not aligned with any Religious Group or Organisation and does not discriminate on the basis of Race, Creed or Disability.
The One World Orphans Fund is administered by comitted Volanteers who have nominated to serve in the Management Comittee and who give their time and resources to promote the aims of the Fund on a strictly "pro bono" (without charge) basis.
One of the points of differance in the fund is that its constitution guarantees that 100% of all monies donated are used to purchase basic life sustainable products that are delivered directly to registered institutions in third world countries.
The Fund is constituted as an Incorporated Association under Queensland, Australian Law and complies with all Statutory and Audit legislative requirements.
Unlike many aid organisations the Fund operates on ZERO administration charges as all products and services provided to the fund for operational purposes are either donated Free of Charge or paid for by a Fund member to ensure that 100% of every dollar donated goes directly into the purchase of products for delivery to the intended recipient.
Monies donated to the Fund are spent in the local communities purchasing products facilitated by Local "in country" Managers thereby stimulating the local communities economy. Products purchased are then given to the orphanages and/or institutions on a needs basis. Money in any form is not given to eliminate the posibility of corrupt practices.
In 2002 and again in 2005 terrorists exploded bombs in the heart of the tourist areas of the Indonesian island of Bali, killing and injuring many people.
Unable to get work or feed their families many Balanese have been forced to send their children away to one of the over 100 orphanages just to survive.
Many of these orphans are classed as "Economic Lemah" which means Parents of poor economic circumstances. They come from all over Indonesia including Bali and also from East & West Timor where ethnic and cultural violence left many children with no one to care for them.
The One World Orphans Fund is currently engaged in providing assistance to a number of Orphanages and Aid organisations in Bali, with Food, Whitegoods, Building materials, Educational Products, Medication, Hygiene Products, Clothing and Toys.
Funding for these institutions comes almost entirely from donations as in many countries there is no Government assistance available.
The Funds longer term goal is to provide building service and renovate many of the orphanages facitities where cooking and bathroom conditions are poor.
Ultimately the fund would like to provide a University level education to some of the children disadvantaged in this way so that they may contribute to their societies in a meaningful way.
